We currently have an opening for a Packaging Set-Up Operator in our Mira Loma facility.

     

     

    • Ensure the packaging equipment is kept in good running condition by doing preventive maintenance, machine set-up and trouble-shooting whenever a machine breaks down in an effort to increase and minimize down time

    Responsibilities

    • Set-up, maintain and trouble-shoot packaging equipment.
    • Check work orders and get AVP numbers.
    • During changeovers, check, prepare and replace and/or adjust all machines and equipment, including, but not limited to, slats in filler, bottle loader, capper, lapel, label, metal detector.
    • Verify and change the lot numbers and expiration dates on line 5 and higher. Assist machine operators to do this on lower lines.
    • Assist set-up mechanics, material handlers, and machine operators and others as needed
    • Must be able to lift, climb, stoop, crawl, bend and twist.
    • Must be able to speak and read and write and understand English.
    • Equipment used: Various hand tools.
    • Physical Activities required: Standing, bending, grasping, crawling, climbing, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs.), speaking and listening.
    • Work conditions: Production/factory environment, sometimes slippery floor.
    • Train others as requested.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalency with mechanical training
    • 3-5 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a packaging facility
    • Familiarity with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements
    • Experience with SOPs; packaging methods/procedures and documentation; MSDSs; and other manufacturing documentation
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
    • Reads, writes (spelling, grammar, and punctuation), and speaks English
    • Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Following and understanding verbal and written job instructions
    • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others
