    POSITION OVERVIEW/JOB PURPOSE

    A global manufacturing company in the nutraceutical industry is looking for a Staff Accountant to join the growing team. The position will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing our General Ledger. Involvement with the Accounts Receivable allowances team as well as the external audit will also be required. This position reports to the Senior Accountant as well as the Accounting Manager

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions and Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Work closely with Senior Accountant, Director of Accounting on developing reporting impact of transactions and broader operations.
    • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
    • Resolve customer allowance issues by working with AR team
    • Identify and implement process improvement ideas for the customer allowance process
    • Take ownership of month end closing tasks assigned including journal entries and trend review etc.
    • Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports or statements. Perform detailed investigation between actual and budget
    • Identify control deficiencies and suggest/implement appropriate internal controls
    • Evaluate current practices and policies and contribute continuous improvement.
    • Participate in external Financial statement and IRS audit related activities.
    • Assist with preparation of various sales/use, property and income tax filings
    • Completion of tax special projects and research, as needed

    Required Experience, Education, Licenses/Certifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting
    • 2 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting or public company experience preferred
    • CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
    • Strong skills in MS Excel
    • Strong project management and system implementation skills
    • Manufacturing industry and customer allowance experience strongly preferred
    • Experience working with an ERP system, Oracle R12 preferred
