Technician, Laboratory

As a function for Product Development, the job candidate is responsible for provide technical assistance to the Product Development staff in the formulation of new or the reformulation of existing nutritional supplements products. The candidate is required to work in the lab performing bench trials, physical evaluations, calibration, cleaning, and assist with pilot / production trials.  Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a team-based environment.

• Support senior staff initiatives in preparation for execution of bench trials, physical evaluations, and testing of raw materials to support product introductions
• Assist senior staff with preparation / execution of pilot batches and product scale-up (evaluation) batches and gather data to support in-process parameters and finished product specification
• Responsible laboratory cleanliness, and ensure equipment and instruments are in good working order
• Perform bench trials, physical evaluations, and collect data to support product formulation
• Procure, maintain, and organize raw materials and keep inventory of same
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and setup
• Conduct laboratory cleaning and sanitation per cGMP/SOP
• Observe and comply with all lab and plant safety/cGMP/SOP requirements at all times
• Other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED
• Soft Gel encapsulation machine operator and/or Maintenance experience is desired.
• 3+ years of laboratory or manufacturing experience related to nutritional supplement products.
• Must have good math and technical skills 
• Also must have a general working knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment, cGMP’s, and related SOP’s 
• Ability to communicate effectively with Product Development staff
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel related to technical documentation and data retrieval. Must be self-motivated and be able to work in a team-based environment
