Overview

The Human Resources Manager position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The successful HRM acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HR Manager seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The position may include international human resource responsibilities. The role will oversee employee relations, Operations support, and daily plant functionality.  

Responsibilities

  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units. 
  • Consults with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate. 
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies. 
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. 
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required. 
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). 
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. 
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. 
  • Provide guidance on Union negotiations and state law 
  • Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers 
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. 
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs. 
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Overseeing all aspects of employee leave programs within the organization
  • Maintain confidential records and documentation related to employee leave, ensuring compliance with data privacy and confidentiality standards
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as payroll and benefits administration, to ensure accurate and timely processing of worker's compensation leave-related matters.
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in human resources 
  • Experience in manufacturing a preferred 
  • A strong understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Business partner mindset
  • Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) and other HR-related software.
  • Ability to leverage technology for HR process improvements and data analysis. 
  • Self-motivated and action oriented; proficient in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks 
  • Excellent communication & organization skills 
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees 
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage and develop HR staff.
  • Experience in leading HR initiatives, projects and parterning with organizational leaders
