Directs, oversees and manages all aspects of operations functions; inclusive of activities of manufacturing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all operations are in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMPs) and IVC company policies 
  • Oversees, priorities, and coordinates the daily activities of all operations functions 
  • Train, assign and assist employees in the encapsulation department to run department smoothly and effectively

  • Covers for department Manager during absence

  • Responsible for assigned staffing and operations associates daily activities 
  • Understands and administers to production schedules plus has responsibility to ensure timely completions of work schedules 
  • Keeps management appraised of all process issues, trouble shoots and resolves problems 
  • Understands inventory accuracy and keeps processes in check to ensure inventory integrity 
  • Ensures project deadlines 
  • Meets established performance standards and keeps staff aware of performance metrics 
  • Keeps work areas, plant facilities in “tour ready” status at all times 
  • Meets job requirements, duties assigned, as set by senior management 
  • Maintains Production reports to monitor all production and labor data in order to keep the plant running and eliminate or reduce downtime 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 plus year’s soft gel operation knowledge
  • Supervisory experience (communication skills, training)
  • Basic math skills (Add, Subtract Multiply)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Mechanical aptitude (working with equipment)
  • Ability to work well with people; be polite and teamwork oriented. 
  • Must have organizational skills. 
  • Able to manage multiple projects, demonstrate initiative and work in an environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist. 
  •  Ability to read and comprehend written English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  •   Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Possesses the ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb and lift consistently throughout the shift.   
  • Proficient in the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in written and verbal forms 
  • Understands Lean manufacturing practices 
  • Strong Working knowledge of Excell, and all MS suite applications 
  • Previous experience with ERP Systems  
  • Understands Six Sigma concepts 
  • Capable and willing to work overtime, flex on weekend schedules.
