Overview

  • Under general supervision, oversees and performs all of the duties required during the pre-weighing of powders and ingredients to be used for the manufacturing of capsules/tablets and dispensing on the Powder lines. The lead is to ensure that paperwork is filled out properly and cGMPs, SOPs, and Safety Guidelines are followed at all times. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and directs staff in the performance of the daily pharmacy work schedule requirements. 
  • Monitor departmental facilities and equipment ensuring they are used and maintained in a safe, clean and sanitary conditions 
  • Ensures departmental compliance with written process, cGMPs and Safety guidelines. 
  • Updates and maintains all required work order and departmental records. 
  • Train new employees. 
  • Ensure all scales are calibrated according to current SOPs. 
  • Ensure that product, batch record and pick list match. 
  • Ensure that immediate work area is clean and safe. 
  • Ensure that production log books are filled out correctly 
  • Ensure that weigh up equipment is operating properly 
  • Ensure that entries made into the batch record are accurate 
  • Communicate any and all production issues to the Supervisor / Manager. 
  • Attend all outlined training sessions scheduled i.e. safety, and CGMP 

 

Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  
  • At least three (3) years’ manufacturing experience and at least one year of experience as a departmental lead. 
  • Familiarity with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements 
  • Able to manage multiple projects, demonstrate initiative and work in an environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist.  
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend written English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations. 
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals 
  • REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Possesses the ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb and lift consistently throughout the shift 
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25.00 Kg.  
  • Capable and willing to work overtime, flex on weekend schedules.
