Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities  

  • Direct and oversee the manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse departments to ensure that all operations are performed according to current guidelines.  
  • Develop effective strategies for the successful implementation of projects improving quality, customer service, and reducing costs.  
  • Provide technical expertise on the theory and practice of solid dose formulations, processes, cGMPs, FDA regulations and investigative techniques for troubleshooting problems, such as process deviations, equipment problems, raw material issues.  
  • Develop, review, track, and provide input on deliverables and recommendations on current projects, new product introductions and process improvement projects.   
  • Ensure adherence to relevant guidelines and regulations.  
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s MOS (management operating system).  
  • Develop and manage budgets and track spending variances.  
  • Participate in the development of internal standards for management of industrial operations projects.  
  • Develop, recommend, and implement corporate manufacturing policies and procedures consistent with corporate objectives 
  • Define and recommend manufacturing objectives, develop specific short and long range and programs with supporting budget requests.  
  • Support business development in the pursuit of new business opportunities.  
  • Review and approve technical documents such as protocols, validation reports and batch records.  
  • Oversee monthly headcount, absorption, and budgetary goals.  
  • Track and trend other KPIs as required. (examples: UPPH, DLEV, OEE, RFT, TRIR, etc) 
  • Interact with other departments to ensure problems / issues are resolved quickly. Coordinate with the Quality departments for vendor inspections and audits, plant visits and documents requests.  
  • Other duties as directed.  
  • Possibly act as back up for the VP of Operations when needed. 

 

General Responsibilities 

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.    
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.   
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.    

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licenses: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
  • 5-10 years of experience including at least 2 of those years being in a leadership role 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to negotiate and facilitate. Experience with startup operations.   
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, providing clear direction, motivation, and support to achieve departmental goals. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion, including strategic planning, budgeting, and ensuring quality and cost efficiency. 
  • Thorough understanding of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and quality assurance protocols, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Proficient in ERP related software (i.e. Oracle, iWMS, MES, PLM) 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences, foster collaboration across departments, and build positive working relationships. 
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in developing and implementing corporate policies and procedures to drive operational excellence, support business development initiatives, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
