Overview

The Weighing Supervisor oversees the weighing operations within our production facility. This role ensures accurate and efficient weighing processes, compliance with quality and safety standards, and effective supervision of team members. 
 

 

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities  

  • Supervision of Weighing Operations: 
  • Oversee the daily weighing processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to production schedules. 
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of weighing operators to meet production goals. 
  • Ensure all raw materials are weighed and prepared according to established formulas, specifications, and quality standards. 
  • Team Leadership: 
  • Provide direction, training, and support to weighing team members to promote productivity and skill development. 
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees. 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and accountability. 
  • Quality Assurance: 
  • Ensures all operations are following standard operating procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMPs) and IVC company policies  
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control procedures to maintain product consistency and regulatory compliance. 
  • Identify and address deviations or non-conformities in the weighing process. 
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and other departments to resolve quality-related issues. 
  • Safety and Compliance: 
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas, addressing hazards promptly. 
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and encourage reporting of near misses or unsafe conditions. 
  • Process Optimization: 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in weighing operations to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. 
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline weighing workflows. 
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to weighing operations. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: 
  • Maintain accurate records of weighing activities, including production data, inventory usage, and quality checks. 
  • Prepare and submit reports on production performance, safety incidents, and other key metrics. 

 

General Responsibilities 

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.    
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.   
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.    
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licenses: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of weighing operations, equipment, and materials handling processes. 
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality assurance standards. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team development and motivation.Ability to read and comprehend written English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.  
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.  
  • Possesses the ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb and lift consistently throughout the shift.    
  • Proficient in the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in written and verbal forms  
  • Understands Lean manufacturing practices  
  • Strong Working knowledge of Excell, and all MS suite applications  
  • Previous experience with ERP Systems   
  • Understands Six Sigma concepts  
  • Capable and willing to work overtime
