Overview

Under the direction of supervision (i.e. Manager, Supervisor and/or Team Leader) the Production Operator for the Gummy Production is responsible for trending, monitoring and/or performing operational tasks of assigned equipment and machinery to meet production schedules.

· Extruding– Operator moves blended material into tanks that will supply extrusion. As needed, will also add defoaming agents ensuring smooth and uniform product.

· Depositing – Operator oversee the dispensing of product into molds by the Kuka Robots.

· Drying – Operator operates and monitors a continuous drying machine to achieve desired moisture content and texture. Product is placed in a bin warmer to maintain a consistent temperature by monitoring a moisture meter to test moisture level to ensure product meets quality standard

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

· Properly executes all cleaning steps, equipment set-up and manufacturing instructions for installed nutraceutical equipment in accordance with approved SOPs.

· Identifies and stages all raw material according to batch documentation.

· Ability and willingness to assist in granulation department when needed.

· Ensure proper cleanliness and assembly of all manufacturing equipment per the approved SOP.

· Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment at all times and notifies supervisor immediately of any safety concerns, accidents or injuries are observed.

· Ensures accurate and timely completion of all equipment logs and documentation.

· Understands and adheres to all cGMP and FDA regulations.

· Identifies and reports any quality issues to supervisor or quality department.

· Understands and adheres to all Company policies, procedures, SOPs and Safety regulations.

· Other duties as assigned

 

General Responsibilities

· Adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced is required

· Maintain clean work environment at all times, including and not limited to hygiene practices

· Follow batch record instructions and maintain accurate and legible production records

· Ensure proper labeling of finished product while completing all necessary paperwork / documentation as required

· Ensure that correct raw material and lot numbers are being processed

· Ensure proper recording and usage of batch records per established processes

· Accumulate all rejects and place into the appropriate containers for proper disposal or rework process

· Complete all necessary paperwork and proper documentation

· Know and understand the cGMP and other regulatory compliance

· Ensure job specific safety procedures are established and followed

· Maintain awareness and enforcement of health and safety practices and activities

· Be involved in the development, implementation, and updating of health and safety plans and procedures

· Actively participate in health and safety training programs and demonstrate competency based on training received

· Make safety a priority in daily operations by: Actively participating in health and safety activities,

· Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements,

· Ensuring adequate resources are provided, and

· Providing suggestions for improvement to the health and safety program.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licenses:

· High school diploma or equivalent (required).

· Previous experience in machine operation, preferably in food manufacturing or production.

· Basic understanding of machinery and equipment used in production lines.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor production processes.

· Ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform preventive maintenance.

· Good understanding of safety standards, food safety regulations, and quality control processes.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· 6 months machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Ability to lift up to 50lbs
