Overview

Position Overview 

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for national accounts within the vitamin and supplement industry. This role involves leading a dedicated sales team, managing key national accounts, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales leadership within the health and wellness sector, a deep understanding of the vitamin and supplement market, and a proven track record of managing and growing national accounts.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities  

  • Sales Strategy and Execution: 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share with national accounts. 
  • Establish and monitor sales goals, customer and product KPIs, and other performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded. 
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive threats to stay ahead in the industry. 
  • Sales Operations: 
  • Oversee the management and optimization of sales pipelines, ensuring consistent and accurate forecasting. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to align lead generation strategies and ensure a seamless handoff of qualified leads. 
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and closing deals with high-profile or strategic clients. 
  • Account Management: 
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts. 
  • Understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their requirements. 
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the company’s brand and customer base. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: 
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives and overall customer portfolio management. 
  • Work closely with the executive team to align sales efforts with overall company goals. 
  • Reporting and Analytics: 
  • Develop and maintain sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics. 
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. 
  • Present regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. 

 

General Responsibilities 

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.    
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.   
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.    
  • Other duties as assigned.   

Qualifications

The Candidate 

Education, Experience, and Licenses: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred. 
  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably within the vitamin, supplement, or health and wellness industry. 
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets with national accounts. 
  • Strong understanding of the vitamin and supplement market, including regulatory requirements and industry trends. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Data analytics knowledge to interpret data, sales trends into meaningful presentation to support item(s) presentations. 
  • Excellent computer capabilities, including MS Office 
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally. 
  • Excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills. 
  • The ability to work with and maintain information of a highly confidential and sensitive nature. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Demonstrated ability to display diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with the commitment to task with awareness of urgency. 
  • Cross-functional leadership and experience presenting to Executive teams. 
  • Leadership experience setting and delivering organizational strategies, initiatives, objectives, and plans.
