We are looking for an industry leading Logistics Analyst to join our dynamic Global Logistics team. This person must have a pro-active approach to the role, be on-top of all daily challenges and at the same time be planning future tasks. The right candidate will be able to multi-task and assist with all customs clearances, ocean, rail, air, and drayage moves as they happen real-time. Candidates should also have a collaborative working style and a demonstrated ability to drive tasks in partnership with other teams at IVC. 

 

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

  • Works with a Global Logistics team based in both the US and internationally under the direction of the Global Logistics Import Manager. This team is responsible for tracking, tracing, and coordination of all ocean/air shipments of finished goods, raw and bulk materials
  • Provides daily reporting of the status of all international shipments to IVC.
  • Ensures a real-time response to customs clearance issues, ocean delays, rail issues, LTL and FTL challenges
  • Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries, and resolve any shipment delays in a timely manner.
  • Ensures compliance with all import/export documentation and regulatory requirements
  • Understands the operational dynamics and how a logistics team interacts with other areas within the supply chain, buyers, marketing, finance, IT, etc.
  • Assists with reporting daily operational performance through data mining/data modeling/data analysis/cost/benefit analysis/process mapping or problem analysis to enhance senior managements perspective of current operations
  • Reviews current processes and provides feedback and ideas for ensuring the continuous improvement of IVC’s global logistics operation.
  • Communicates effectively with IVC’s third party entities that support our global logistics operation on a daily basis. This is including but not limiting to IVC’s Asian partners, freight forwarders, steamship lines, customs brokers, port officials, and CBP/DHS.
  • Ensures the timely and accurate processing of all freight and brokerage invoices
  • Assist with tracking and resolving any claims related to international shipments

 

General Responsibilities

  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work. 
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration preferred (in lieu of a degree must have 7+ years of proven hands-on global logistics experience)
  • 3 + years of experience working within a fast-paced third-party logistics company, ocean/air company or wholesale/retail environment
  • Previous experience dealing with international transportation, customs and border patrol regulations, and duty/tariff requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluent in Mandarin, both written and oral preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated teamwork capabilities, working and collaborating in highly effective teams
  • Demonstrates a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Must have US Customs experience, being able to demonstrate working knowledge of HTS code structure and have previous experience working hands-on with US Customs Brokers
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of both distribution and logistics financial processes nationally and internationally
  • Must have a strong aptitude to deal with carrier performance metrics and be able to assist in producing KPIs for measuring and delivering world class results
  • Advanced PC skills required in MS Office Platforms with a strong concentration in Excel; on-site interview testing will be performed
  • Hands-on knowledge of WMS and TMS operations required, working knowledge of Oracle ERP
