Position Overview 

The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities  

  • Lead new employee orientation, individual and group, including reviewing new hire information presentation, policy, and procedure review, and completing all necessary new hire documents. 
  • Responsible for employee data change processing, including ensuring required approvals are obtained and the system is updated accurately and timely. 
  • Manage special events, employee recognition programs and activities to include the planning, facilitation, monitoring and execution of these efforts and initiatives. 
  • Conduct exit interviews with employees; communicate findings to management. 
  • Maintain and assist in developing various human resources plans and procedures for all team members. 
  • Maintenance of employee personnel files. 
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Assist Human Resources Manager with employee leave management, including FMLA and Workers Compensation process. 
  • Responsible for management of employee locker assignments and periodic locker cleanouts. 
  • Processing ad hoc reports in SuccessFactors. 
  • Assist with data compilation and analysis. 
  • Assist with benefit administration and open enrollment as needed. 
  • Assist employees and manager; answer questions, address concerns; resolve issues quickly by actively listening and making recommendations for resolutions; deescalate situations as necessary. 
  • Participate in inter-departmental meetings and communicate HR updates on regular basis. 
  • Maintain communication boards, TV monitors and job postings. 
  • Establishes professional boundaries and maintains the utmost confidentiality. 
  • Additional duties as assigned.  

 

General Responsibilities 

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.   
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.  
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.   
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Qualifications

The Candidate 

 

Education, Experience, and Licenses: 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience 
  • 4+ years in human resources capacityrequired 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Strong organizational, planning and priority-setting skills   
  • Strong interpersonal skills   
  • Efficient and effective communication   
  • Strong understanding of HR and employment laws and best practices and policies   
  • Familiarity with HR databases, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems ie. iCIMS and SuccessFactors    
  • General Knowledge of all Human Resources family and categories   
  • Ability to produce accurate work results and handle multiple projects   
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate with all levels of roles within an organization   
  • Ability to quickly adapt and produce high quality work in a quick paced job environment
