Overview

Position Overview 

This role focuses on driving operational excellence by identifying inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and developing employee capabilities through structured training programs. 

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities  

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within operations, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies. 
  • Lead projects to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality across operational processes. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize processes and eliminate waste. 
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program Management: 
  • Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive on-the-job training programs to enhance employee skills and ensure operational excellence. 
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across teams. 
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions and ensure knowledge transfer for new processes and tools. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics. 
  • Team Leadership and Coaching: 
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to team members involved in OJT and CI initiatives. 
  • Mentor employees on best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 
  • Empower team members to contribute ideas and actively participate in CI efforts. 
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: 
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to measure the impact of improvement initiatives. 
  • Develop and present reports and recommendations to senior leadership. 
  • Ensure alignment of CI projects with organizational goals and priorities. 
  • Change Management: 
  • Act as a change agent to drive adoption of new processes, tools, and mindsets. 
  • Develop communication plans to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Address resistance to change and provide support to ensure successful implementation of CI initiatives. 
  • Compliance and Safety: 
  • Ensure that all training programs and process improvements comply with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations. 
  • Promote a culture of safety and adherence to best practices throughout operations. 

 

General Responsibilities 

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.    
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.   
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.    
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

The Candidate 

Education, Experience, and Licenses: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or related roles. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies; Green Belt certification preferred. 
  • Experience designing and delivering effective on-the-job training programs. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
