Overview

 

The laboratory technician position is responsible for performing physical testing of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples utilizing current Compendia, cGMPs, cGLPs, and SOPs. Assists other lab staff as needed under the supervision of senior laboratory staff and lab supervisor. Position performs other basic laboratory duties as directed.

Responsibilities

The individual will be expected to work at all Greenville sites (WOD, WDD, DDR) for collection of environmental, water, and investigation samples.  Will be expected to participate in sample collection as needed for microbiology and validation projects in Greenville.

  • Collection, testing, reporting in Labworks, and Trending of Environmental and water samples.
  • Backup QC Van Driver route.
  •  Increasing industry expectations for increase food safety sampling has resulted in additional environmental monitoring (EM). This additional monitoring is needed to support new business from Now Foods and Herbalife. IVC Recently made updates to EM program to meet these expectations.
  •  Updated EM program resulted in additional environmental samples for collection, testing, and trending. Also increased resampling requirements – including vector sampling and triplicate resampling for EAR.
  • Installation of new purified water system at DDR will include sampling and testing for validation process.
  • Weekly monitoring of the DDR water system will then be implemented following the completion of validation.
  • Installation of New Gummy Manufacturing – will require microbiology support for validation.
  • Following validation, Gummy manufacturing system will require implementation of environmental and allergen monitoring program that will include: Update of procedures and documents, collection of samples, testing of samples, reporting and trending of data.
  • Provide support in investigations and CAPA in Greenville when microbiology support is needed.
  • Anderson Microbiology Staff:
  • The current 6 individuals provide coverage 7 days a week for microbiology testing of bulk and raw materials from WOD and DDR.
  • Conduct the Anderson Facility water, environmental, and allergen monitoring.
  • Review raw material COA’s.
  • Release raw materials in Labworks, Oracle, and iWMS.
  • Finished Good microbiology testing will be implemented to support NSF requirements.
  • Implementation of China bulk testing.
  • Testing of gummy bulk and packaged product

 

 

Qualifications

Experience and Education

 

  • Required : Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline such as biology or chemistry; 2 years laboratory experience (academic or professional) Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as biology or chemistry, 1 years in an analytical lab
