Position Overview

The Production Operator – Gummies (Pulverizing, Weighing, Mixing) is responsible for converting raw materials into powder form and preparing accurate mixtures while maintaining complete and compliant documentation to support high-quality production. This cross-trained role operates pulverizing, weighing, and mixing processes, ensuring strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety requirements, and operational standards.

 

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

Pulverizing

  • Load raw materials into pulverizer equipment using a super sack unloader.
  • Operate pulverizer machinery to convert raw materials into powder form.

Weighing

  • Accurately weigh all materials (solids and liquids) to production specifications.
  • Remove all weighed material from correct containers and portion into precise quantities.

Mixing

  • Accurately combine weighed materials into solid and/or liquid/syrup mixtures using industrial blenders and mixers.
  • Follow established documented steps to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of formula specifications.

Shared Duties

  • Verify material for accuracy before processing.
  • Document and verify quantities and lot numbers for all raw materials on batch records and supporting forms in compliance with GMP.
  • Maintain accurate and legible documentation in compliance with GMP and company standards.
  • Wash and sanitize gummy trays and molds in accordance with GMP and SOP requirements.
  • Assist with general cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned.
  • Perform start-of shift and end-of-shift cleaning and shutdown procedures safely and accurately.
  • Consistently follow all company safety policies, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.  
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work. 
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

The Candidate

Education, Experience, and Licenses:          

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior machine operation experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of basic computer skills, including data entry, barcode scanning, and navigating inventory management systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and follow detailed written and oral instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in batch record and GMP documentation.
  • Understanding basic GMP and safety principles in a regulated environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to be cross trained on multiple processes required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members in small group and one-on-one settings.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment (with powders, liquids, noise, and PPE).
