Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives for our contract manufacturing services in the dietary supplement industry.Join a high-growth team expanding IVC’s footprint in the nutraceutical and wellness markets. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and driving revenue growth through innovative go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a strong network, and a proven track record in B2B sales within the nutraceutical or CPG manufacturing space.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth:Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the company’s client base and market share in the dietary supplement sector.
  • Client Acquisition:Identify, target, and secure new contract manufacturing partnerships with brand owners, startups, and established supplement companies.
  • Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Market Intelligence:Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to inform strategic planning and product positioning.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:Collaborate with R&D, operations, quality, and marketing teams to align customer needs with internal capabilities and ensure successful project execution.
  • Sales Pipeline Management:Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities using CRM tools; provide accurate forecasting and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Contract Negotiation:Lead contract discussions, pricing strategies, and service agreements in alignment with company goals and profitability targets.
  • Brand Representation:Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to enhance visibility and credibility.

 

Qualifications

The Candidate

Education, Experience, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or CPG manufacturing industry

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven success in securing and growing multimillion-dollar accounts in contract manufacturing environments, including private label, custom formulation, and turnkey solutions.
  • Strong understanding of dietary supplement manufacturing processes including blending, encapsulation, tableting, packaging, and labeling.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA, cGMP, NSF, and other quality standards relevant to supplement manufacturing.
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions for clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts and managing long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer segmentation, and competitive positioning in the dietary supplement space.
  • Ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into actionable business opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30–50%) to meet clients, attend trade shows, and support business development initiatives.
  • Existing network of contacts in the dietary supplement or wellness industry.
  • Experience working with private labels, white label, or custom formulation clients.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for health and wellness innovation.
