Overview

Position Overview 

The Turret Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of turret trucks in narrow-aisle warehouse environment. This role performs precision handling of palletized and case-pick inventory, executes put-away and retrieval at elevated heights, supports order fulfillment, and maintains accurate inventory records while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity standards. 

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities  

 

  • Operate turret forklifts safely in narrow-aisle, high-bay racking environments. 
  • Store, retrieve, replenish, and relocate inventory using WMS-directed tasks. 
  • Perform elevated picking and put-away with attention to accuracy and damage prevention. 
  • Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report safety or mechanical issues. 
  • Use RF scanners to complete real-time inventory transactions. 
  • Support cycle counts, audits, and inventory verification activities. 
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas. 
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards. 

 

General Responsibilities 

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.    
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.   
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.    
  • Other duties as assigned.   

Qualifications

The Candidate 

Education, Experience, and Licenses: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • Prior turret forklift experience strongly preferred 
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of turret forklift operation and racking safety. 
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy. 
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined aisles. 
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse work. 
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
